VOODOO GAS TEAM

When Nitrox first came out, people in the industry saw it as a bad thing and dubbed it Voodoo, or Black, gas. They did not understand it, and it was seen as unsafe. Today, it is one of the safest gases you can breathe under the water. This is where we got the name for our dive club.

The club meets once a month at the shop. A rep from one of our vendors is usually on hand, showing the latest products. We have had Force Fins, Aeris, Bare, and ScubaPro come in, just to name a few.

After the meetings, there is a barbecue and raffle. Only current club members can take part in the raffles, but everybody is welcome to come to the meetings. This is a great place to meet other divers and find new people to dive with. There are all sorts of different people that belong to the club.

If you want to join the club, it is $40 a year. You will receive a club card, which entitles you to 8% off all merchandise purchases (excluding sale items), discounts on chartered boat trips and e-mail updates about our monthly events. After you spend $1250, you will also receive a free one-day boat trip to Catalina. A record of your purchases is kept on your membership card so you won’t have to keep track.
